Morgan Creek is a 546 acre planned unit development. A total of 579 homes were built. 64 of these are patio style homes that we refer to as villas. The Villas were built by Lakemont homes now known as Silverado Homes. 190 homes were built on the south side of Morgan Creek by William Lyon Homes. The William Lyon homes are all on lots between 10,000 and 12,000 sqft. Another 325 homes were built on the north side of Morgan Creek on lots over 20,000 sqft. These were built by Lakemont homes, JMC Homes and individual custom home builders.
Morgan Creek has walking/biking trails running through-out the community. It also has a creek known as Dry Creek running right through the middle of the community. Although it is called Dry creek I can assure you it runs year round. At least it has run every year since I lived in Morgan Creek (2005). The creek area is a riparian corridor consisting of 45.4 acres and the county maintains this area for walk, horse back riding and biking. There is both an asphalt trail and a dirt trail that runs along the creek. During the summer alot of kids and adults can be found down by the creek cooling off.
Morgan Creek also has a 6.8 acre lake that is maintained by the HOA. The lake has a great aerating system that keeps the water moving and it also has some deep sections that allow the water/fish cool temperatures. This prevents algae growth on the lake. I have never seen an algae bloom on this lake. The signs say no swimming and no fishing but I have heard that some of the neighbor kids do a little bit of both in this lake and that the fishing is actually very good.
Of the 546 acres 48% of it is open space. Morgan Creek has over 260 acres of open space.
Another feature in Morgan Creek is the 18 hole putting course. This runs in the middle of the villas. It is maintained by the golf course and is open to all Morgan Creek residences. Adjacent to the putting course is 2 Bocce ball courts. Thes are maintained by the HOA for everyones enjoyment.
All the streets in Morgan Creek are private and maintained by the HOA. The greeters at the entries are there 7 days a week for 24 hrs a day. We aslo have a roving patrol that ensures our safety and checks on parking violations.

I have spent the last 11 years living and working in Morgan Creek. We were one of the first custom homes built in Morgan Creek and thoroughly enjoy living in this community.
We have a family of 4 boys who have all attended the local public elementary and highschools. Creekview ranch is the local Kindergarten through 8th grade school. The designated High School is Oakmont Highscool. One unique attribute of Oakmont is it has an IB program.
Morgan Creek has been a great place to raise our family. All four of my boys have learned to golf. The two oldest are actually better than dad now. The Morgan Creek golf course is one of the longest in the greater Sacramento area. Designed by internationally reknown golf course Architect Kyle Phillips. Some people might say it is a hard course. I think it is a fun course and all ways one of the best maintained in area. The golf course helps to bring the Morgan Creek community together. It is nice to run into the neighbors when you are down hitting a bucket of balls or having dinner.
On October 10,2013 Placer County gave their approval for electronic motorized gates at each of the entrances to Morgan Creek and the entrance to Morgan Greens. This was many years in the making. My understanding is the gates at Vineyard and Walerga will have to remain open during the day to allow access to the golf course. Morgan Creek will keep greeters at both of those entrances. The entrance off PFE will no longer have a greeter. I am not sure just yet how we will open and close the gates. I imagine they will have a clicker type devise to allow access.
This website is designed to educate people about Morgan Creek. I have lived in Morgan Creek for over 8 years now and have sold over 150 properties in Morgan Creek. Over the years I have found that alot of people dont know very much about Morgan Creek. We have always been that odd duck that no one has every heard about. I meet people outside of Morgan Creek and they might ask me where I live and no one has ever heard of Morgan Creek. Even people that have lived in Roseville forever. I say we are a diamond in the rough. This lack of exposure to the outside world has made Morgan Creek a great value if you are looking to buy a home.
